Description

Details

Well struck details fully brought up from clashed dies, this is the only true colonial coin struck by the Royal Mint in the Tower of London for the Virginia colony. The obverse is very lustrous with hints of mint red in the lettering with the period after GEORGIVS. The reverse has more orange red evident and the harp is 7 strings. Likely from the Cohen hoard this is an above average example within the grade as to quality. CAC approved and would make a nice addition to a colonial type set collection or for a Virginia 1/2P collector collecting the period, no period, 6, 7, and 8 string harp basic varieties set. PCGS price guide is $1550, population at PCGS is 62 with just 5 in higher grades.
